D.A.V. College in Chandigarh was founded in 1958 and has since grown to become an integral component of the socio-cultural milieu. DAV is a member of the famed D.A.V. organisations founded by Mahatma Hans Raj and energised by Swami Dayanand Saraswati, an extreme visionary. This college contains a library with a collection of approximately 1 lakh 20,000 books, journals, and books in many languages. With missionary enthusiasm, this college was established from the ground up. The college's early principals and teachers worked tirelessly to build the college brick by brick. DAV College encourages students to participate in various cultural activities, such as the National Cadet Corps (NCC). They prepared students for regular commissions in the Army, Navy, and NSS. They supported students in various other activities such as the Audio-Visual Society, Dramatic Club, Hiking Club, and Photography Club.
