Sri Meenakshi Government Art College for Women

The Tamil Nadu government founded Sri Meenakshi Government Arts College for Women in the temple city of Madurai in 1965 to address the demand for the advancement of women in and around Madurai. The college's first class included 320 students, 13 teaching staff members, and 13 non-teaching staff members on a 16-acre site.
