The University of Freiburg is officially known as the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and is the fifth oldest university in Germany. It was founded in the year 1457 by Habsburg dynasty. Presently this university has 11 faculties - Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Faculty of Chemistry, Pharmacy, and Geosciences, Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Economics and Behavioural Sciences, Faculty of Forest and Environmental Sciences. This attracts students from all over the world and 16% of its students belong to 120 different foreign countries.
